Large Glasgow park with woodland, a walled garden and play areas, home to the House for an Art Lover.
One of Glasgow's biggest parks, Bellahouston combines open grassland and mature woodland with a walled garden and several play areas, giving families plenty of room to spread out. The House for an Art Lover, built in the 1990s to a design Charles Rennie Mackintosh submitted for an unbuilt 1901 competition, sits within the grounds and is a striking stop in its own right. The park also hosted Pope John Paul II's 1982 open-air mass, drawing hundreds of thousands, a reminder of just how much space it holds. It's free to visit, with parking on site and most paths suitable for buggies.
