Housed inside Hampden Park, the national stadium, this museum traces the history of Scottish football from its 19th-century origins — Scotland played in what's recognised as the world's first official international football match, against England in 1872 — through to the modern game. Trophies, memorabilia and interactive exhibits cover both the men's and women's game, and the museum can be combined with a guided tour of the stadium itself, including the players' tunnel and dressing rooms. It's a strong pick for football-mad children in particular, though the displays have enough general sporting history to interest a wider audience. There's an admission charge, and the museum is fully indoors and accessible.
