Reopened in 2022 after a major refurbishment, the Burrell Collection houses the extraordinary hoard of art, tapestries, stained glass and objects amassed by shipping magnate Sir William Burrell, who gifted the entire collection to Glasgow in 1944. Exhibits range from medieval European art to Chinese ceramics and Islamic textiles, displayed in a striking modern building set within Pollok Country Park's woodland. Family trails and interactive elements help make the wide-ranging collection accessible to younger visitors rather than overwhelming. Its position within Pollok Park makes it easy to combine with the wider estate's Highland cattle and woodland walks. Entry is free, and the building is fully accessible.
