The world's last seagoing paddle steamer, running scenic cruises on the Clyde and beyond from Glasgow.

Built in 1946, the PS Waverley is the last seagoing paddle steamer left in the world, and it still runs genuine passenger cruises along the Firth of Clyde and further afield through the summer season, powered by its original coal-fired steam engine. Watching the huge paddle wheels turn and feeling the engine's rhythm below decks gives children a real sense of how ships worked before diesel engines took over. Cruises range from short trips to longer day excursions to places like Arran or the Kyles of Bute, with food and drink available on board. It's a genuinely rare experience rather than a routine boat trip. There's a charge for tickets, cruises run seasonally rather than year-round, and the vessel has stairs between decks.
