About this place
A well-equipped play area in central Edinburgh with slides, swings, and climbing frames.
Tucked into the valley below Edinburgh Castle, in gardens created on the site of the old Nor Loch after it was drained in the 18th century, this play park gives families a proper stop for children in the middle of the city's busiest sightseeing area. Slides, swings and climbing frames sit within view of the castle rock, making for a striking backdrop to an otherwise ordinary play break. Its central location means it's easy to combine with a walk along Princes Street or up towards the Old Town. It's free to use, with public toilets and cafes nearby, and the park itself is on level, accessible ground.
