About this place
Small museum showcasing island history with traditional buildings and heritage displays.
This small museum brings together traditional buildings, including a restored croft house and smiddy, to tell the story of everyday life on Arran across the centuries, from farming and fishing to the island's social history. Hands-on exhibits and displays of everyday objects give children a tangible sense of how different island life once was compared to today. Its modest scale makes it an easy addition to a longer day on Arran rather than a full attraction in its own right. There's an admission charge, and the historic buildings have some uneven flooring.
