About this place
Island viewpoint and large boulder offering wide views over the Clyde and surrounding islands.
This large boulder and viewpoint sits at one of the higher points on Cumbrae, offering wide views across the Firth of Clyde and the surrounding islands that give a real sense of the area's geography in one sweep. It's a short but genuine climb from the road to reach the stone itself, rewarded by views that take in Arran, Bute and the Ayrshire coast on a clear day. It makes a good stop partway around the island's cycling or walking routes. It's free to visit, with limited roadside parking nearby.
