These free-to-visit remains within Strathclyde Country Park are what's left of a Roman bathhouse, originally built to serve a nearby fort along what was once the northern frontier of the Roman Empire in Britain. Excavated and preserved in place, the low stone walls give a tangible sense of Roman engineering and daily life this far north, a genuine surprise for many visitors given how far the site sits from the empire's more familiar southern strongholds. It's a compact, easily explored site rather than a full day out. Entry is free, and the site is largely accessible, though the ground is uneven in places.
