About this place

Woodland walk leading to dramatic waterfalls and viewpoints.

A woodland walk from near Whiting Bay leads up through mixed forest to Glenashdale Falls, where the water drops in two dramatic stages down a rocky gorge, with a viewing platform giving a good vantage point without needing to scramble close to the edge. The walk itself takes a couple of hours there and back at a family pace, with a reasonable amount of climbing involved on the way up. It's one of the more substantial waterfall walks on Arran, rewarding for families with a bit of stamina. It's free to visit, with parking at the trailhead near Whiting Bay.
