Free museum on the harbour telling Aberdeen's shipbuilding and oil industry story.

Set on Aberdeen's historic harbour, partly within the 16th-century Provost Ross's House, this free museum traces the city's long relationship with the sea, from fishing and shipbuilding through to the North Sea oil industry that transformed Aberdeen's economy from the 1970s onwards. A large model of an oil platform and views straight out over the working harbour help bring the more recent industrial story to life for children alongside the older maritime exhibits. It's a compact, easily manageable museum rather than a sprawling one, well suited to an hour or two. Entry is free, and the museum is fully indoors and accessible.
