This short, easy walk near Aviemore loops around a small forest lochan, following flat, well-maintained paths through Caledonian pine woodland that make it one of the gentlest outings in the Cairngorms. It rarely takes more than half an hour at a young child's pace, which makes it a good option for tired legs after a bigger day out, or a first taste of the forest for very small children. There are no facilities at the lochan itself, so it works best as a quiet add-on to a day based around Aviemore, rather than a destination to plan a whole visit around.
