About this place
Famous whisky distillery in Lochranza offering tours and tastings.
Founded in 1995 in the village of Lochranza, the Isle of Arran Distillery is a relatively young addition to Scotland's whisky map compared with many centuries-old distilleries, built specifically to revive whisky production on an island with a long history of illicit distilling. Tours take visitors through the process from malted barley to cask, finishing with tastings for adults in a modern visitor centre. Its setting, overlooked by Lochranza's ruined castle and often visited by red deer, gives it a particularly scenic backdrop. There's an admission charge for tours, a shop and cafe on site, and the visitor centre is fully accessible.
