Museum telling the story of Antarctic exploration aboard Captain Scott's ship RRS Discovery.

The RRS Discovery, moored on Dundee's waterfront, was built in the city in 1901 specifically for polar exploration, and went on to carry Captain Robert Falcon Scott and his crew on the British National Antarctic Expedition. The museum alongside it uses the ship itself, which visitors can walk through cabin by cabin, together with exhibits on the crew's scientific work and the extreme conditions they faced, to tell a genuinely dramatic story of early 20th-century exploration. It's one of Dundee's standout family attractions, easily combined with the V&A next door. There's an admission charge, and while the museum is accessible, the ship's original decks and stairways are narrow.
