This lakeside complex at Balloch combines shops, restaurants and family attractions in one accessible site, with the Drumkinnon Tower giving elevated views out over Loch Lomond and the surrounding hills. Cruises depart from the shores in season for a closer look at the loch and its islands, and watersports hire is available for those who want to get out on the water themselves. It's a good base for a full day, particularly in changeable weather, since there's plenty to do both indoors and out without needing to move on. Loch Lomond Shores is free to enter, with paid parking and charges for individual attractions, cruises and watersports.
