Set within the wider Rothiemurchus Estate near Aviemore, this natural playground is built from timber, logs and boulders rather than plastic, with rope swings, balance beams and climbing structures that blend into the forest around them. Well-marked trails lead off from the play area into the surrounding pinewoods, so it's easy to turn a play stop into a longer forest walk if energy allows. The wider estate also runs a farm shop and ranger-led activities such as gorge walking and off-road driving, worth knowing about if the family wants to make more of a day of the visit. It's free to use the play area itself, with parking on site.
