This sandy Berwickshire beach sits just along the coast from St Abbs, and it's popular both with families looking for a straightforward day on the sand and with surfers drawn by some of the most reliable waves on Scotland's east coast. The village behind the beach has a handful of cafes and shops, making it easy to base a longer day here rather than just a quick stop. Rockpools at either end of the beach give children something extra to explore beyond the main stretch of sand. It's free to visit, with parking available nearby.
