Family park near St Andrews with boating lake, miniature railway and large adventure playground.

A short drive from St Andrews, Craigtoun packs in a genuinely large adventure playground, a boating lake with pedal boats, a miniature railway and a curious recreated Dutch village, giving families several different activities to work through over an afternoon rather than a single quick stop. The park is run by Fife Council and the grounds themselves are free to wander, with the boats, train and some other attractions charged separately and often seasonal, so it's worth checking what's actually open before setting out, especially outside the summer months. There's plenty of parking, toilets and a cafe, and the paths are flat and buggy-friendly throughout.
