Scottish Wildlife Trust reserve above New Lanark with waterfalls, gorge walks and nesting peregrines.

Managed by the Scottish Wildlife Trust, this reserve above New Lanark follows the River Clyde through a dramatic wooded gorge past a series of waterfalls, the largest of which, Corra Linn, has drawn visitors and artists since the 18th century, including William Wordsworth and J.M.W. Turner. Peregrine falcons nest on the cliffs along the gorge, and a visitor centre sometimes has live camera feeds of the nest during breeding season. The walk connects naturally with a visit to New Lanark itself, making it easy to combine history and nature in one outing. It's free to visit, with parking nearby and the gorge paths involving some steep, uneven sections.
