This National Nature Reserve at Corehouse protects ancient gorge woodland above the Falls of Clyde, with trees and habitats that have developed largely undisturbed for centuries thanks to the steep, difficult terrain that kept much of the gorge out of reach of farming or forestry. It connects naturally with a visit to the nearby Falls of Clyde and New Lanark, extending a walk through some of the oldest and most ecologically significant woodland in the wider Clyde Valley. It's free to visit, with parking nearby, and the gorge terrain involves steep, sometimes uneven paths.
