This museum near East Kilbride combines a genuine working farm, set up to recreate Scottish farming life in the 1950s, with indoor galleries covering the broader history of Scottish rural life across the centuries. Tractor rides out to the working farm let children see real livestock and period farming equipment in action, giving a hands-on complement to the museum's more traditional indoor displays. The farmhouse itself is furnished to show how a farming family actually lived at the time, right down to the kitchen and everyday household objects. There's an admission charge, and while most of the site is accessible, the farm involves outdoor walking across a working farm site.
