This working watermill near Kilwinning now houses a museum dedicated to Ayrshire's country life and costume, with the mill machinery itself still intact and demonstrated to visitors alongside displays of traditional clothing and rural artefacts spanning several centuries. The combination of a genuine working mill and a well-curated costume collection gives it more variety than a typical local history museum. Its rural setting, with the mill race still running, adds atmosphere beyond the exhibits themselves.
