Part of the wider Monteviot Estate near Jedburgh, Harestanes offers a network of waymarked woodland walks alongside a walled garden, giving families a choice between a shorter garden stroll and a longer trail through the surrounding countryside. The visitor centre itself has displays on local wildlife and countryside topics, adding a bit of context for children curious about what they might see on the walks. It's a quieter, more low-key visit than some of the Borders' bigger estates. It's free to visit, with parking on site and most main paths suitable for buggies.
