Popular sandy beach with dunes and coastal walks.
This stretch of sandy beach backed by dunes gives families a quieter alternative to Aberdeen's busier central seafront, with plenty of space for a walk, a picnic or simply letting children run. The coastal path along this section is popular with walkers and cyclists as well as those heading straight for the sand, and the dunes themselves add some shelter from the wind on a blustery day. There are no facilities directly on the beach, so it's worth coming prepared, though nearby towns and villages are usually only a short drive away. It's free to visit, with parking available nearby.
