These country gardens near Peebles combine a walled garden with wider woodland and parkland walks, centred on a pond that's home to ducks and other wildlife children can watch from the paths around its edge. Seasonal events, including snowdrop walks in late winter and other displays through the year, give regular visitors a reason to return at different times. It's a gentler, more traditional garden visit than some of the Borders' grander estates, well suited to a relaxed afternoon.
