One of Scotland's oldest distilleries, tucked below the cliffs in the centre of Oban.

Founded in 1794, Oban Distillery is one of the oldest in Scotland and sits right in the heart of the town, tucked below the cliffs in a way that means the town effectively grew up around it. Its small scale compared to larger distilleries gives tours a more intimate feel, walking through each stage of whisky production in a compact, historic setting. Tastings at the end are for adults, but the visitor centre and shop welcome the whole family, and the central location makes it easy to combine with the rest of a day in Oban. There's an admission charge for tours, and it's fully indoors.
