About this place
Wide sandy beach on the Fife coast at Burntisland, backed by a Victorian promenade and links.
This wide, sandy beach at Burntisland gives families plenty of room for a proper day on the sand, backed by a Victorian promenade and a stretch of golf links behind the dunes. Its position on the Fife coast, looking across the Firth of Forth towards Edinburgh, gives good views on a clear day, and the town itself has a handful of cafes and shops close to the front. An annual summer fair, one of the oldest travelling funfairs in Scotland, sets up on the links most years, adding an extra draw at the right time of year. It's free to visit, with parking available nearby and toilets along the front.
