About this place
Heated outdoor saltwater pool on the Clyde at Gourock, one of the last of its kind in Scotland.
Opened in 1909 and heated year-round, this outdoor saltwater pool on the Clyde coast at Gourock is one of the last surviving lidos of its kind in Scotland, drawing swimmers even on cooler days thanks to its heated water. The pool's position right on the shore gives views out across the Firth of Clyde while swimming, a genuinely different experience from an indoor leisure centre pool. It's a popular spot on warm summer days, when it can get busy, but the heated water means it's usable well outside peak summer. There's a charge for admission, seasonal opening hours apply, and the poolside is largely accessible, though changing facilities involve some steps.
