Waterfall and gorge walk near Comrie, with a footbridge over a dramatic rock pool known as the Devil's Cauldron.

A woodland walk from Comrie leads to the Deil's Cauldron, where the River Lednock crashes through a narrow rocky gorge into a deep, swirling pool that gave the spot its dramatic name. A footbridge crosses the gorge at its narrowest point, giving a properly vertigo-inducing view straight down into the water below. The walk itself, mostly through mixed woodland, is manageable for most families without being a serious hike, though the path can be muddy after rain. Comrie, known as Scotland's earthquake capital thanks to its position on a geological fault line, makes for an interesting stop either side of the walk. It's free to visit, with parking near the start of the trail, and the path is not suitable for buggies.
