Crystal-clear waterfalls and pools below the Black Cuillin, a popular family walk.
A well-marked path from the Glenbrittle car park follows the River Brittle up towards the Black Cuillin, passing a string of clear blue-green pools and small waterfalls along the way - the walk to the furthest pools and back takes most families the best part of an hour. Some visitors brave a swim even though the water stays cold year-round, but plenty of children are just as happy paddling at the edges or scrambling over the rocks. The path is uneven and can be muddy after rain, so wellies or proper boots make a real difference, and the car park fills early on sunny days, so an early start helps avoid the worst of the crowds.
