Famous viewpoint looking down Loch Tummel, said to be named for Queen Victoria.
This viewpoint looks straight down the length of Loch Tummel towards the distinctive cone of Schiehallion, and it's popularly said to be named after Queen Victoria's visit in 1866, though some accounts suggest it may actually honour an earlier queen, Isabella, wife of Robert the Bruce. Either way, it's one of the most photographed views in Perthshire, and a visitor centre at the car park gives some background along with a cafe. The viewpoint itself is only a short, easy walk from parking, making it accessible for most families regardless of energy levels. It's free to visit, with a charge only for parking.
