This small coastal village on Arran's west coast combines a beach, a working harbour and a golf course within easy walking distance of each other, giving families a compact base for a relaxed day without needing to travel far between activities. Its position on the quieter west side of the island, away from the busier Brodick and Lamlash side, gives it a more low-key, local feel. Nearby attractions, including Machrie Moor stone circles and the King's Caves, make it a good base for exploring this part of Arran. It's free to visit the village and beach, with parking available and a charge only for golf.
